The Omega Globemaster Co-Axial Master Chromometer

The Omega Globemaster Co-Axial Master Chromometer

This week's watch of the week from Keanes Jewellers is The Omega Globemaster Co-Axial Master Chromometer. The Omega Globemaster represents the cutting edge of mechanical watchmaking at Omega --not only is it fitted with a co-axial escapement (Omega remains the only watch manufacturer to have successfully industrialized a non-lever escapement) it is also the first to be certified by the Swiss Federal Office of Metrology --which means, among other things, an ability to resist magnetic fields so strong you could wear it in an MRI machine. (Not that you should . . . but you could.) After fastening the Omega Globemaster on my wrist, I admit that I was seduced by this contemporary interpretation of precision. Its curved shape and short lugs make the watch extremely comfortable to wear. Its comfort is further enhanced by an elegant brown leather strap and a subtle and effective deployment buckle. The ergonomic quality of this watch is that it could almost make its owner forget that they are wearing it on their wrist. You'll find this stunning timepiece in Keanes for €8000.
